Russia is considered the chief weapons supplier to China. It exports its ready-made weapons, sells its military technologies and contributes Chinese missiles developments.
Pentagon 2007 Annual Report on the military power of the People's Republic of China said Russia remains the leading supplier of weapons to China, and continues to cooperate with the country on a variety of technical and logistics issues, enabling China to maintain and modernize its large military potential. Russia exports the newest fighters, missile systems, submarines and destroyers to China. China has bought the right for manufacturing Russian weapons and is negotiating on the buying the newest military systems.
Russian export made up $7 billion in 2007. About 70 percent of Russia's foreign arms sales went to China and India.
