Russia to Compete with Microsoft and Apple

Russian Ministry of Information Technologies announced that first Russian personal computer would appear this autumn. The computer will cost Russian equivalent of $400.

Russian officials claim the computer will meet all modern technological requirements. Experts expect it to attract more Russian people to the Internet. Scientists from the city of Zelenograd have already developed microprocessor and memory for the computer. Domestic components for computing machines make Russia more technologically independent. However, technical characteristics of new Russian development still remain a secret.
