Russian Snails for European Restaurants

Russian tour operator Profi Tur located in Pskov has been licensed to collect edible snails for following export to the European market.

Edible snails live in the southern part of the Pskov Region, where they progressively procreate and seriously damage the agriculture.

The entrepreneurs are determined to harvest approximately 226 tons of snails from 15 of April to 1 of October. The company will open special collecting points to receive snails from the local population.

The delicacy from the Pskov Region will be supplied to the European restaurants this year. Besides, the company plans to start processing edible snails locally.
