Monument to Prelate Surgeon Luka to Appear in Nizhni Novgorod

A monument to the famous archbishop, scholar and surgeon Luka Voino-Yasenetsky (1877-1961) will be set up in Nizhni Novgorod.
      So far the Nizhni Novgorod sculptor Igor Pokrovsky has implemented the monument project in plaster.The sculpture depicts the prelate surgeon wearing eparchial vestments and holding a book on surgery in his hands.
      The bronze monument will be cast in Saint Petersburg. The sculpture will be set up in Gagarin Prospect nearby the building of the Nizhni Novgorod Medical Academy.
