Young animators floating from Nizhny Novgorod to Moscow

The international cartoon festival KROK will open on the 19th of August in Nizhny Novgorod to move to Moscow. The participants and guests of the festival will float down the Volga river on board the ship Georgy Zhukov. This year the festival will be devoted to creative works of beginning animators. The competitive program consists of two parts: students works and debuts.
       34 countries will be presented at the festival. Out of almost 600 sent films the selective committee has chosen around 130.
       Russia is presented by Dmitry Geller, the laureate of the cartoon festival held in Suzsdal (film A little night symphony), Michail Leypunsky and Dmitry Elyashev (Bacon), Leon Estrin (A tiny sparrow that could not fly), Helen Chernova ("2+1"), Stepan Biryukov and Kostantin Arefyev (Ivan-Juan), etc. Most of them are nurslings of the Russian State University of Cinematography and the Pilot cartoon studio.
       The international jury consists of composer Norman Roja (Canada), six films of whom were awarded Oscars; film director Vook Yevreimovich (Germany); artist and film director Liz Flowerday (Great Britain); film critic Larisa Malyukova (Russia) and artist Oleg Pinchuk (Ukraine).
       On its way the festival ship will stop in towns of Kostroma, Rybinsk, Yaroslavl, Tver for the participants to hold creative meetings with little viewers.
      Awarding of prize-winners will take place at the festivals closing ceremony in Moscow on the 28th of August.
