The jury of the independent literary “Russian Award” conferred on authors from the CIS and Baltic countries, have announced the winners of the season of 2007.
Vladimir Lorchenkov from Chisinau has been awarded in the “Big Prose” nomination for his story “Tam gorod zolotoy” (There is Golden Town) reissued by the Livebook Publishing House under the title “Vse tam budem” (We Are All Going to Be There).
Gulchehra Pulatova from Tajikistan with her collected short stories “Priklyuchenia grapha Layolia” (Adventures of Count Liyole) written under the penname of Michel de Mouseville has become the winner in the “Small Prose” category.
Oleg Zavyazkin, author of the collected poems “Malyava. Stikhi o smerti i lyubvi” (Message. Poems about Death and Love) has taken poetry prize.
The “Russian Award” jury was headed by the illustrious Russian-language Kyrgyzstani writer Chinghiz Aitmatov.
