Exhibition of agitation posters by the famous Kukryniksy art-group has opened in the Great Palace of Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, Moscow.
The exposition under the title “History through the Eyes of Kukryniksy. 1928–1945. War Poster. Caricature. Painting. Graphics” is timed to coincide with the 63rd anniversary of the Great Patriotic War.
The legends of Soviet caricature, Mikhail Kupriyanov, Porfiri Krylov and Nikolai Sokolov who worked under the well-known pseudonym from 1928 to 1945 created thousands of posters, cartoons and drawings. The exhibition presents over a hundred of original works.
Apart from front-line chronicles and political graphic posters the visitors will see drawings made by Kukryniksy at the famous Nuremberg Trials, as well as paintings created by Nikolai Sokolov in the streets of Berlin conquered by Soviet forces.
The exhibition runs till May 24.
