P96-Golf ultra light aircraft manufactured by Tecnam (Italy) crashed in the Chelyabinsk Region of Russia on Sunday evening killing the pilot and his trainee. The aircraft belonged to Russian company Chelavia.
According to the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the pilot and trainee carried out a training flight reproducing a situation of an in-flight engine failure. Witnesses claim that the aircraft seemingly went out of control, crashed and burnt up.
45 people and 14 equipment units were involved in liquidation of the crash consequences. An investigation has been launched to find out the reasons of the crash.
