Actor Vladimir Etush Turns 85 Today

Famous actor Vladimir Etush celebrates his 85th birthday today. He keeps up active working and living.
      Vladimir Etush is engaged in stage plays of the Vakhtangov Theatre, where he has worked since 1945. At the same time he has taught at Shchukin High Theatre School since 1945. For 16 years from 1987 he was holding the chancellors post in Shchuka, one of the best drama schools in Russia. He often appears in television broadcasts and takes an active part in struggle for preservation of the Central House of Actor.
      I do not think much about my age and do not fell sad about the shortness of human age the actor said.
      As a youth Vladimir Etush volunteered to the front during the Great Patriotic War. He served as a translator in reconnaissance, took part in battles, was awarded and wounded.
      Vladimir Etush has played over a hundred roles in theatre and cinema. He has best of all revealed himself as a comedy actor of very specific characters.
      Many Russian viewers remember him featured in lots of cult films, such as Kavkazskaya plennitsa, ili Novye priklyucheniya Shurika (Kidnapping Caucassian Style, or Shurik's New Adventures) (1966), Ivan Vasilevich menyaet professiyu (Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Occupation) (1973) and Priklyucheniya Buratino (The Adventures of Buratino) (1975), and others.
