The first Moscow Biennale Architecture open today in the Central House of Artist focuses on developing mass housing of new generation in Russia.
According to Biennale curator Bart Goldhoorn, “in Russian cities there exists a problem of standard houses that do not meet the needs of modern living”. “We want to show that mass housing can also make a city more attractive” - he added.
The biennale has gathered together architects from 18 countries, all presenting national achievements in the field of building.
From 40 to 60 thousand people are expected to visit the biennale in the course of a month.
The exhibition runs till June 22.
