Chinghiz Aitmatov Nominated for Nobel Prize

Outstanding Kyrgyzstani and Russian writer Chinghiz Aitmatov will be nominated for Nobel Prize in literature.
      
      It is the permanent Council of Culture Ministers of Turkic Language Countries that proposes the illustrious author who writes both in Russian and Kyrgyz.
      
      Unfortunately the author of the famous novels such as The First Teacher, The Scaffold,, The White Ship,, The Day Lasts More Than a Hundred Years,, and others is undergoing medical treatment in Germany at the moment. Diagnosed with renal insufficiency, he came from Kazan to a Nuremberg hospital.
      
      The Novel Committee that appoints the winners always keeps secret the list of nominees. The names of future winners of the worlds most prestigious awards will be announced in October 2008.
