Russia to supply humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Russia is ready to contribute 15 thousand ton of grain and four million USD to make Afghanistan an independent and flourishing country.
      On Wednesday at the UN Security Council, devoted to Afghanistan issue, Russia claimed it was ready to support Afghan people in the difficult period and was to supply 15 thousand ton of grain as humanitarian aid this year and to transfer 4 million USD to the multilateral Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund in 2008-2009.
      We hope Russia and all international efforts will contribute to Afghanistans becoming an independent and flourishing country free of terrorism and drugs, said Vitaly Churkin, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations.
