Russia will present Mammoth Cloning and DNA Laboratory at Venice Biennale
The Mammoth and Permafrost Museum draft

A draft of The World Mammoth and Permafrost Museum will be presented at the Russian pavilion at XI the Venice Architecture Biennale on September 11-November 23.

The draft of the museum in Yakutsk looks like a mammoth or a herd of mammoths, as it stands on lots of legs. The legs are to minimize the heat transfer to the permafrost. The same legs on the roof will serve as windows to let the light in in case of much snow. The roof -legs remind mammoth trunks.

The World Mammoth and Permafrost Museum will be constructed not only for exhibiting pre-historic animals skeletons but it will also be used as a Research Center with a cloning and DNA laboratory.

Its the ninth time Russia takes part in the Architecture Biennale.
