Sterlets and Trouts found in Moscow River
The Moscow River

Moscow River, considered one of the most polluted in the region, surprises ecologists, who have found sterlets and rainbow trouts in upstream Moscow. Specialists say this proves good quality of water in the river, at least at one of its parts.

At the same time, it is not recommended to eat the fish caught in the Moscow River in the centre of the city and downstream, it may be dangerous.

The Russian authorities plan to raise mussels, capable of creating appropriate environment for other river inhabitants. Two floating platforms, designed for cultivation of mussels and fish for the Moscow River, are under construction at the moment.
