Osip Mandelstam Monument to Appear in Voronezh

A monument to the outstanding Russian poet Osip Manelstam will be unveiled in Voronezh on the eve of City Day on September 2.
      The bronze sculpture created by the Moscow sculptor Lazar Gadayev will be set up in the city park Orlyonok, in front of the house 13, Friedrich Engels Street, where the poet and his wife lived during their Voronezh exile in 1936.
      Altogether the famous poet spent about three years (from 1934 to 1937) in Voronezh.
