Stone Village Pictures to Film its Version of Amphibian Man

The Stone Village Pictures film studio has purchased rights for screening the famous literary work The Amphibian Man by Alexander Belyaev.

The production of the romantic drama is planned to be entrusted to the producer Jenia Kokotuha.

The novel written back in 1928 tells a fantastic story of an Argentine surgeon who implants gills of a young shark to a dying baby. The boy survives yet he cannot exist without water and has to live in the sea, secluded from peoples society. The life of the boy named Ichtiandr changes totally when he saves a girl sinking in the sea.

The Russian screen-version of the sci-fi novel was released in 1962 and was a great success in this country.
