Novolipetsk Steel buys John Maneely Company for $3.5 bn

After several weeks of keeping heads down due to Mechel’s case, Russian steel producers report about new multi-billion dollar transactions. Yesterday Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) signed an agreement on acquisition of American John Maneely Company (JMC) for $3.53 billion.

One of the key players of the American steel tube market will join Novolipetsk’s U.S. assets after the deal is given green light by the Antimonopoly bodies.

John Maneely Company comprises 11 plants located in 5 states of the USA and in Canada. Employing 2.1 thousand people, the company produces over 3 million tons of steel tubes per year.
