Russian Pilots Win World Championship in Aerobatics

Last Saturday the first ever world championship in aerobatics on YAK-52 took place in Russia. 25 participants from Russia, Belgium, Latvia, Finland, the Republic of South Africa and other countries arrived to the Russian city of Novosibirsk.
At the last moment the organizers were about to withdraw the championship due to the unfavourable weather conditions. The flights were delayed for several days and at the weekend the participants had to fly from morning till night to redeem the time lost because of the bad weather conditions.
Russia appeared to become the winner of the championship by taking the first place; the second and the third places were occupied by the Lithuania and Belarus.
