Russian Artist Recognized Among Best Manga Authors

Winners of the international competition among foreign manga artists have been announced in Japan.
      The first prize winner is the manga veteran Lau Wan Kit from Hong Kong with his cartooned story Feel 100% that was first published back in 1992. The second prize went to three artists at once: from China, France and Russia.
      The Russian prize-winner is 23-year old Svetlana Chezhina. She took part in the competition with her story Portrait/ShoZo about love of a young artist and a senior pupil girl. The story appealed to members of the jury headed by Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs Masahiko Koumura.
