Russians Do Not Go to Cinema

More than half (54 per cent)of entire Russian population almost never go to cinema, results of the poll recently held all over Russia, say.
      The initiative poll was held on 16-17 August in 140 inhabited localities in 42 regions and republics of Russia. Altogether 1594 people were questioned. The statistic error is not more than 3.4 per cent.
      The most common reasons for such infrequent cinema-going are as follows: absence of cinemas in the local area (26 per cent), lack of spare time (23 per cent) and high costs of tickets (20 per cent).
      Besides, 19 per cent of the questioned prefer to watch interesting films on TV and 9 per cent watch films on videotapes and DVDs. 7 per cent of the poll participants are not happy with the quality of cinemas in their cities, whereas 5 per cent do not go to cinemas, because they do not find there films interesting for them.
