Sketch of the medal for "Forcing to peace"

The Commission on Awards of the RF has introduced a medal for Forcing to peace. The medals will be given to the peace-makers who took part in the operations in South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
The front side of the medal features a convoy of Russian armored vehicles against the background of mountains. The reverse contains an inscription For forcing to peace and August 2008. The medal owes its name to the operation executed by the Russian troops during the war in South Ossetia in August 2008.
The operation of forcing (the Georgian side) to peace lasted from the 9th to the 12th of August and resulted in seizing the Georgian troops from the territory of South Ossetia by the Russian peace-makers.
