Russian Antarctic station Bellingshausen reports that this September is the warmest September of all 50 years of meteorological observations.
Monthly mean temperature was about -1.3 degrees Centigrade. Moreover, annual mean ground air temperature was 2.5 degrees Centigrade higher than 50 years ago. Local warming is accompanied with reduction of marine ice cover.
The phenomenon of global climate warming shows itself as downward fluctuations of annual and monthly air temperature courses due to increase of its minimum values, thickening of clouds and permafrost degradation. Warming also affects marine and terrestrial ecosystems, which are acquiring new thermophilic components.
