Today the People’s Artist of the USSR, illustrious film actor and director Aleksey Batalov celebrates his 80th jubilee.
According to the actor’s colleagues, Batalov is the hero of his time, who embodies its moral ideals as a person and expresses them on screen.
Among film works by Batalov there are lots of well-known characters, such as Sasha in The Rumyantsev Case (Delo Rumyantseva) (1955) and Boris inThe Cranes Are Flying (Letyat zhuravli) (1957), Vladimir Ustimenko in My Dear Fellow! (Dorogoy moy chelovek) (1958) and Golubkov in The Flight (Beg) (1970). One of Batalov’s roles most of all cherished by millions of women is certainly charming Gosha in the Oscar winning drama Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears (Moskva slezam ne verit) (1980).
