The Grand Kremlin Palace will close for restoration works after December 25th. The museum will thereby temporarily close exhibitions to visitors.
Restoration works will be carried out on the ground floor, in bedrooms and living rooms, as well as ceremonial rooms of the Russian royal family.
Overall restoration was last held in mid XIX century. The Grand palace was built by architect Konstantin Ton in 1849. The famous Alexandrovsky, Vladimirsky, Georgievsky, and Yekaterininsky staterooms were renovated in 1960-s.
