CSKA qualify for UEFA Cup playoffs

The Moscow Sports Club of the Russian Army, CSKA survived a late scare to beat Lech Poznan 2-1 and book their place in the knockout stages of the UEFA Cup in Thursdays match of the tournaments Group X. It has thereby won the right to join the 1/16 finals of the UEFA Cup tournament.
      CSKA scored its third victory in the group round of the UEFA Cup tournament and leads with 9 points to its name. Another Russian club, Spartak, outplayed Croatias Dinamo-Zagreb to the count of 1 to nil, in Group D, which gives it an additional chance to join the next round of the tournament matches.
