Using a new method astrophysicists have proved the existence of dark energy and obtained more accurate data on its characteristics.
      
      The achievement has been accomplished by the international team of scientists headed by Alexei Vikhlinin, a research worker of High Energies Astrophysics Department of Space Research Institute (Russia, IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
      
      For the first time since discovery of the mysterious dark energy that makes our Universe expand faster and faster quite an independent proof of its existence has been developed and its physical characteristics have been considerably specified.
      
      “As compared to American scientists who actually discovered dark energy in the late 20th century, we have used an essentially different method, and this is where the importance of our work lies” – Alexei Vikhlinin said in an interview for ITAR-TASS.
