Russia to Launch 39 Satellites in 2009

In spite of the world financial crisis, the Russian government has assigned an ambitious mission for the aerospace industry: to break the world record and launch 39 satellites in 2009. This was reported at a press-conference by chief of the Russian Space Agency Anatoly Perminov.
He also mentioned that Russia launched 26 satellites in 2007 and 27 satellites in 2008.
Russia is also going to launch 4 piloted missions instead of 2 and to send 6 Progress cargo spacecraft to the ISS instead of the previously planned 4.
