St. Petersburg director Konstantin Bronzit has been nominated for the Oscar Prize for his animated film Lavatory Lovestory (Ubornaya istoriya - lyubovnaya istoriya) (2007).
The animation is a 9-minute tracing paper-drawn story about a woman who works in a public conveniences and chances to experience true love right on her workplace.
Konstantin Bronzit is the third Russian author pretending to Oscar in the Short-length Animated Film Category. The directors previously nominated were Aleksandr Petrov (nominated four times and awarded once for The Old Man and the Sea (Roujin to umi) (1999)), and Alexij Kharitidi with his miniature Gagarin (1995).
