Recently French car-maker Renault has announced its consolidated net income decreased by 78% to ?599 million in 2008.
Nevertheless, the company is set to raise profits at the expense of Russia and adjacent markets of former USSR.
A 25% stake in Russian AvtoVaz let Renault consider Lada brand as a part of cosolidated sales volume. Russia seems to be the only market having chances to soar in the midterm.
In 2008 Renault sold 108 070 vehicles in Russia including 74 300 Logans assembled at the Russian facilities of the company. Renault’s forecast for the Russian market is feasible: in Russia there are 210 cars per 1000 citizens, while in Europe there are 400-500 cars per 1000 people, say analysts.
