Stradivari violin to play in Moscow

May 21 will see a presentation of the project Cultural Capitals of the World. Genoa in the Moscow International House of Music.
      The partners of the project are the embassy of Italy to Moscow and the municipal government of Genoa.
       The project will open with the concert entitled Paganini Violin in the Svetlanov Hall of the IMHM. Violin admirers will have a unique chance to hear the violin of the 18th century made by the legendary master Stradivari. The violin will be specially brought to Moscow for this concert.
      Massimo Kuarta (Italy), a laureate of the Paganini International Competition of Violinists in Genoa and the National Philharmonic Orchestra will perform the famous Concert N1 by Paganini, and compositions by Respigi and Tchaikovsky.
       May 25 and 26 will see a premiere of the choreographic spectacle Daimon, staged by the Genoa ballet-master Pier Paolo Koss.
       The Paganini Phenomenon project will be performed jointly by Russian and Italian musicians on May 27. It embraces some chamber music pieces by Paganini, composed for instruments the Maestro had at the tips of his fingers violin, guitar, alt and cello.
       The project will be crowned with a musical show and a video installation Il mare negli occhi... (Sea in the eyes) about Christopher Columbus performed by the Genoa theatre Chance Eventi and the popular quartet Bailam group.
       The project in the IMHM will be accompanied by an art and historic exhibition on Paganini, specially brought from Italy for the occasion.
