Renata Litvinova Sued for Onstage Hackwork

Saint Petersburg theatre lovers claimed the play Diary of a Madman (after Gogols story of the same name) presented by Renata Livinova to be outright hackwork and sued the actress for it.
They demand refund of the ticket costs, which ran from 500 to 4500 roubles per ticket, as well as indemnification for moral damages, the edition reports.
In the course of the play Renata Livinova and Aleksandr Bashirov read Gogols work, at the same time exchanging remarks and missing the pages. In response the public started whistling and hooting, causing Livinova abandon the role and enter into a squabble with the audience. The popular singer Zemfira who accompanied Renata Litvinova on this tour, ran onto the stage to stand up for her friend.
Many of the comers chose to walkout and demanded the organizers to refund the money. The latter rejected to do so, saying that the money is returned only in case if the performance is cancelled.
We are not going to give your money back anyway, because the performance is just like that. It is different from classical stage productions. Actually, I am the most normal one in this project! - Renata Livinova said.
