Gay Pride Parade in Moscow: to be or not to be?

The initiators of Gay Pride Parade in Moscow are going to carry out a Gay parade on the May, 16th, in the same day with the final of Eurovision. According to one of initiators of this action Nikolay Alexeev it is an exclusive possibility to draw attention of an international society to the problem of tolerance to sexual minorities. This is not first attempt to carry out a Gay parade in Moscow. The previous ones failed because the administration of the city declined a request.
The institutors of a Parade are going to accomplish tree actions in the centre of Moscow. About 5,000 persons are supposed to take part in them. The Gay Pride Parade will take place, even when the administration of the city declines a request, because the right realization of such actions is provided by the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The campaigners consider a possibility to assert their rights in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
