Attention! Infected ticks looking for you

The 3-years old girl bitten by an infected tick is the youngest but not the first in this season. Specialists are already inclined to consider the activity of ticks in this year higher than in previous. All in all there are 583 inhabitants of the region came to see doctor concerning to tick bite from the beginning of season.
      Besides the little girl there are two cases of falling ill with tick-transmitted diseases. First case is tick-borne encephalitis registered in Chita. The woman was bitten at Dvortsy natural boundary. Second is tick typhus registered also in Chita. The patient was bitten in the area of the railway station Domna. Both women are hospitalized. The girl is suspected to tick-borne borreliosis, a tick-transmitted notifiable disease afficting the nervous system. According to the health professionals there is danger of mixing borreliosis with encephalitis, which frequently causes fatality.
