Traditionally the first every year Russia-EU summit takes place in Russia the second – in Europe. The previous were in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Samara and Khanty–Mansisk.
      The summit will focus on responses to the global financial and economic crisis and on the opportunities of the co-operation. Different ways to further expand the trade and economic relationship will be discussed. The EU continues to support Russia ’s accession to the WTO.
      The participants will also continue the dialogue about visas and about the co-operation in the field of civil and criminal law, and in the fight against drug trafficking.
