The Tretyakov Gallery in Krymsky Val, Moscow, has opened the exhibition Graphic Art by Alexander Deyneka.
The exhibition from the collection of the Kursk Gallery is timed to the 110th anniversary since the birthday of the outstanding artist and is held in the framework of the large-scale project Alexander Deyneka. Research. Books. Exhibitions. 2009-2011.
“The graphic works, many of which have been brought to Moscow for the first time, are marked with diversity of techniques, manners and styles, yet united by the inimitable “energetic charge” of Deyneka. Alexander Alexandrovich Deyneka (1899-1969) is mainly known as a painter and monumentalist. However, for his creativity very important was the graphic basis that in many respects shaped the author’s style. The exhibition from the Kursk Gallery having the largest collection of the master and keeping over a thousand of his graphic sheets allows seeing Deyneka from an unexpected angle” - the gallery’s workers point out.
The exhibition runs till September 20.
