New Material from Pine Needles Developed
Pine needles

Scientists from Novosibirsk developed a unique material, which can be produced from needle wastes without any additives.

Needle wastes are not used in agriculture, but millions of tons of them are produced every year. New material is called “wood plastic”. Authors patented a lean process, which doesn’t damage useful substances of needles, such as phytoncids, flavonoids, terpenes, etc.

Goods, made of this material, evolve nice smell of pine tree and do not require any additional coatings. Technical characteristics of “ecovit” (working title of new material) are similar and sometimes even better than that of widely used plate materials. Ecovit costs the same as wood chipboards, but contains no toxic formaldehydes.
