July 22 saw the opening of the All-Russian Shukshin Festival in the Altai Area. Notable Russian actors and film-directors took part in the opening ceremony.
This film festival is held in Altai for the 11th time and this year celebrates the 80th anniversary of the illustrious writer, actor and film-director Vasily Shukshin.
Among the festival’s guests of honour there are actors Aleksey Buldakov, Aleksei Vanin, Lyudmila Zajtseva, Valeriy Zolotukhin, Irina Lindt , Dariya Mikhaylova, Aleksandr Pankratov-Chyorny, Lyudmila Khityayeva, as well as writers Stanislav Kunyaev and Yuri Polyakov. The writer’s widow Lidia Fedoseeva-Shukshina and her daughter Maria will join the festival tomorrow, July 24.
The contest program includes seven Russian films. The festival was launched with the premiere of Lidia Bobrova’s new film Veruyu (I Believe) based on the eponymous book by Vasily Shukshin.
