Sergey Lukianenko to Write Libretto for Opera Night Watch
Night Watch

The Russian sci-fi writer Sergey Lukianenko will write a libretto for the opera to be based on his own novel The Night Watch.

He got this offer from the Vienne Opera House and a Finnish producer, whose name he does not mention for some reason.

It is supposed to be a vivid, spectacular staging, aimed at attracting the youth, but the music will be classical Mr. Lukianenko explained.

As the writer confessed, set to music would be not the whole novel, but only its episode, which would have everything that guarantees success love story, adventures, betrayal, and tragedy.

Sergey Lukianenko supposes that the stage directors of the future opera were tempted by the immense popularity of the book in Germany and Austria, where it is a long-run novel.
