Archeologists Discover Unique Bas-relief of Two Naked Women

In the course of diggings in Khotylyovo site, the Bryansk Region, Russian archeologists have discovered a work of art unique for Europe.
The cretaceous figurine depicting two naked women cuddling up together was found in the spot, where, as the archeologists suppose, the early people had held their cult rituals. Symmetrically laid out mammoth bones and all-round traces of ochre provide the evidence to that. The bas-relief unearthed in Khotylyovo is unique for art of the upper Paleolithic era of all Europe.
A nude bas-relief image of women had been found earlier among rock carvings of Western Europe. However, as a separate figurine of two naked women, it is the first find ever, and it will be subject to comprehensive study and analysis.
