The Film Fund of Soyuzmultfilm Studio has make its first agreement with a company that will launch production of soft toys based on characters of popular Soviet animated films.
According to the studios director Vasili Shilnikov, the 7-year contract has been concluded with the Fancy Company, which produces and sells soft toys on the territory of Russia and Byelorussia.
It is very important for us that the toys must preserve the unique charms of the prototype characters. Their designs will be coordinated with us by the Fancy Mr. Shilnikov said.
The company is developing about ten characters from legendary Russian animations, such as
Nu, pogodi!, Winnie the Pooh, 38 popugaev, and others. The first soft toys will be available at the exhibition World of Childhood in autumn already.
According to Soyuzmultfilm, the studios income from selling of toys will make several millions a year. One of the essential conditions for getting this profit is absence of counterfeit production on the market.
