Second Largest Russian Platiniferous Province Discovered

Two Russian geologists recently received a 50-thousand roubles award for discovery and studies of platinum and palladium deposits of the Kola Peninsula.
      The research was selected out of five finalists. During the studies, scientists performed complex geological and geophysical research and discovered cut-off grade platinum-containing deposits on the Kola Peninsula.
      Ore occurrence was so promising, that Kola deposit became second largest Russian platiniferous province after Norilsk province. Moreover, the Kola deposit has better climate and favourable geographic and transport location, which can make it a bonanza.
