Moscow LG plant plant accused of air pollution

The people from the village of Shelkovka, the Moscow Region, wrote a letter to the authorities, asking to sort out the situation with LG plant. LG Electronics plant was built in 2006 not far from Shelkovka. The locals believe the plant's location proves to cause harm for their health, as the facility daily releases toxic chemicals.

In August of 2009 the local court ordered the owner of the plant to fix the adverse environmental situation. Following the order the plant's owner appropriated money for new filters.

At the moment the plant operates normally. It produces LCD and plasma televisions, home theatres and household appliances.
