Russian Film Actors May Be Forbidden to Smoke and Drink

The head of Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights Gennady Onishenko suggests increasingly strict methods of smoking and alcohol control. According to the chief sanitary doctor of Russia, drinking and smoking film characters ought to be banned.

Mr. Onishenko asserts that films contain subliminal advertising of tobacco and alcohol. In order to eliminate it, one does not even have to change the Russian legislation. “An agreement among companies in the film industry will be sufficient” - he said in an interview to the Echo of Moscow radio station.

Special attention should be paid to the goodies that fight against villains. Mr. Onishenko believes that such characters should neither smoke nor take alcohol, since they serve as an example to the youngsters. As for the baddies, let them drink - they are not likable anyway.
