Begun, a Russian contextual ad system, and Google signed an agreement making Begun the authorized reseller of Google AdWords in Russia. The Russian company is now entitled to sell ads on Russian search-result pages.
Begun generates most of its revenue by selling advertisements on websites owned by its partners and taking a percentage commission for every payment it collects on their behalf. Begun’s partner network includes over 143,000 Russian language sites.
AdWords is an online advertising program designed to help businesses of all sizes use the Web to find new customers by delivering relevant ads when users search for specific products and services.
Hundreds of thousands of advertisers worldwide use Google AdWords program to promote their products and services on the web. Advertisers bid in an open and competitive auction to have their ads appear alongside the search results for particular keywords. They can specify the geographic location and time of day for their ads to appear. As a result, people see ads that are so useful and relevant that they become a valuable form of information in their own right.
Currently Begun and Google are testing the system to make it shortly available for all Begun's advertisers.
