Natalya Komarova was declared as a new governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area Yugra by the Duma of the region. She is the second female governor in the history of New Russia after Valentina Matvienko, the acting governor of St. Petersburg.
      Natalya Komarova is going to take office on the March, 1st. Now she is a head of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Environment and Ecology. She will have to leave this office on the March, 1 because of her new post.
      The terms of previous governors office expire on the February, 28. Some people wanted him to stay and organized unsanctioned meeting and a road race in order to demonstrate their feelings. But the acting governor personally asked them to stop.
