IAFA and Russia came to agreement about stockpile of uranium

A reserve of low enriched uranium is to appear on the territory of Russia. Such agreement has been signed today on the March, 29 as a result of negotiations between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Rosatom.

The size of the stockpile is supposed to amount to 120 tons of uranium hexafluoride with enrichment from 2,0 to 4,95 per cent uranium-235. The warranty stockpile is supposed to be located in Angansk in the The International Uranium Enrichment Centre.

Russian site, as the owner of uranium, absorbs production, storage and maintenance of the stockpile. After uranium is supplied, it becomes the property of IAFA (The International Atomic Energy Agency). The prices for uranium will depend on the wholesale market prices for the sales moment.
Creation of the stockpile must support the nuclear nonproliferation regime and increase the Peaceful uses of nuclear energy. This stockpile is created for the states with IAFA membership having some difficulties with supplies of low enriched uranium.
