First 3D Ballet TV Broadcasting from Mariinsky Theatre

The worlds first ever ballet live 3D broadcast will be presented by the Mariinsky Theatre. The unique program will be transmitted from the Mariinsky Concert Hall on April 15.
      The gala concert to be broadcast 3D live will include fragments of the theatres best ballets performed by Uliana Lopatkina, Irma Nioradze, Anastasia and Denis Matvienko and other stars. The gala concert will be opened by the Art Director of the Mariinsky Theatre Valery Gergiev and ballerina Maya Plisetskaya.
      For the first time in the world history viewers in Russia and Europe will see 3-dimensional live broadcast of a ballet performance. The signal will be transmitted in the open format, thus enabling any TV viewer with necessary 3D facilities to watch the world premiere the theatres press-release reads.
      A gala night with watching the concert broadcast will take place at the residence of the Russian ambassador to Paris in the framework of the Year of Russia in France.
