Ceramic artist and art critic

      

The People's Artist of Russia, a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, a board member of the Union of Artists of Russia, a doctor of art criticism, a professor of the Stroganov Moscow State Art Academy, a professor of the International Architecture Academy, a winner of international competitions and symposiums in France, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Yugoslavia and India. Valery Maloletkov is the holder of the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (1995) and the Gold Medal of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia (2005). He also got the Award of the City Hall of Moscow (2001). Valery Maloletkov graduated from the Monumental and Decorative Art Faculty (1969) and completed postgraduate course of the Stroganov Moscow State Art Academy in 1973. Successfully working on synthesis of ceramics with modern architecture, Valery Maloletkov is the author of magnificent architectural objects in Russia and abroad, including the Paleonthology Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), the Palace of Russian Science and Culture (Berlin, Germany), the Methon-Ethep company (Athens, Greece), Theatre Studio of the Film Actor (Moscow), the Leo Tolstoy State Literary Museum (Moscow), reliefs in the reception hall of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belarus (Minsk), Marina Tsvetaeva House Museum (Moscow), etc. His works are kept in the largest museums of Russia and abroad, as well as in private collections. Valery Maloletkov is the author of eleven personal exhibitions, and a regular participant of the Russian and foreign fine art exhibitions. The artist's quests and experiments have expanded the possibilities and genre borders of decorative art, enriched its contents and diversified the forms of modern ceramics. Valery Maloletkov is the author of the books Moments of Life, Between the East and the West, Drawings from the Diary, and numerous articles and manuals dedicated to problems of artistic creativity and education. He os also an associate editor of the magazines Young Artist and Deco . Since 1969 Valery Maloletkov has been teaching at the academic drawing and art ceramics chairs of the Stroganov Moscow State Art Academy.
