Writer, poet, critic, and one of the leading figures of Russian symbolism.

      

Real name - Boris Nikolaevich Bugaev

Andrei Bely is known as one of the foremost representatives of Russian symbolism, its ideologist, and the author of numerous poems and “symphonies” in prose. He is also the author of the novels “Silver Dove”, “Petersburg” and others.

Andrei Bely also wrote a number of literary articles. His major theoretic work is the book “Symbolism”.
