George Aramovich Garanian graduated from the Moscow Steel and Alloys Institute (1958). |
He became known as a saxophonist, composer, conductor, and a concertmeister. He was the chief conductor of the All-Union Radio variety orchestra from 1970, and the art director of the ensemble of the Melodia all-Union gramophone recording studio from 1973 to 1982. He was the chief conductor of the Municipal Big Band of Krasnodar. George Garanian composed music pieces to accompany stage productions and movies. The People’s Artiste of Russia.
The musician died on a tour in Krasnodar on January 11, 2010.
